The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has issued formal warnings to two Curaçao-based gambling companies—Hollycorn N.V. and Dama N.V.—for offering illegal gambling services to Australian players.
Hollycorn N.V., the operator behind the Neospin platform, was warned on April 16, 2025, after an investigation found that it provided in-play betting and other regulated services without holding the necessary Australian licence. This activity breached subsection 15AA(3) of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001, which prohibits unlicensed operators from targeting Australian customers.
Dama N.V., which runs Spirit Casino, received a warning on March 26, 2025. The platform was found to offer casino-style games for real money without proper authorisation, violating subsection 15(2A) of the same Act.
These actions are part of ACMA’s broader crackdown on illegal online gambling. In the first quarter of 2025, ACMA completed 22 investigations, identified breaches in every case, and referred 61 illegal websites for internet blocking.
