Hard Rock International breaks ground on the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Athens. The event took place at Hellinikon Airport and featured executives, government officials, and community leaders.
Opening in 2027, this will be the first integrated resort of its kind in continental Europe. With a gaming floor, entertainment venue, and meeting space, the venue will offer a unique experience. The casino will house 180 tables and 1,500 gaming machines.
Costing €1.5bn ($1.65bn), the project will create 3,000 construction jobs and 3,000 permanent jobs. Hard Rock International Chairman, Jim Allen, expressed gratitude to the political leaders, partners, and people of Athens for their support.
Gek Terna Group Chairman and CEO, George Peristeris, highlighted the project’s significance for Greek tourism and the economy. The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Athens is not just a promise or a plan, but a reality in the making.
