Introducing the Enviromental, Social and Governance (ESG) Code of Good Practice for the remote gaming sector. The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) encourages all licensees to adopt this voluntary code to showcase their commitment to sustainability and improve the industry’s ESG standing.

MGA CEO Carl Brincat emphasizes the organization’s dedication to regulatory innovation and progress, striving to nurture the gaming industry while prioritizing societal welfare. The ESG Code exemplifies this commitment.

The code is divided into Enviromental, Social, and Governance categories, with key features including two tiers of reporting, flexibility for certain disclosures, streamlined reporting, and a focus on ESG reporting.

Silvio Schembri, Minister for the Economy, EU Funds and Lands, highlights the importance of embracing tools like ESG metrics to reduce risk and drive successful transformation in the remote gaming sector. The ESG code serves as a self-regulation instrument, allowing gaming companies to align with best practices and meet the evolving expectations of key stakeholders.
