The Nigerian government has given approval to the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) to bring their annual gaming conference up to international standards. This move aims to expand Nigeria’s business landscape and stimulate economic growth.

Lanre Gbajabiamila, the Director-General of NLRC, announced the exciting news in a press release, stating that the conference will take place from October 31 to November 1, 2023.

This year’s edition of the conference will have a significant difference from previous ones. It will attract prominent figures from the gaming industry across Africa and the world, providing Nigerian industry leaders and potential investors with valuable networking opportunities.

The prestigious event will be held at the renowned Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos.However, recent developments have led to the banning of over 30 operators in Nigeria for regulatory breaches. The public is advised to avoid gambling with these brands.

The gambling sector in Africa is experiencing remarkable growth, with South Africa and Nigeria being identified as key markets. Analysts predict that South Africa’s online and offline gambling sector will surpass $2.3 billion in 2023.
