Recent cybersecurity attacks targeted two hospitals and a central operation system in New York, causing disruptions and closures. The incident affected casino slot venues, resulting in the closure of Jake’s 58 Casino. The attack specifically impacted the Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs) operated by Everi Holdings on behalf of the New York Gaming Commission. The Commission reassures the public that personal identifiable information was not compromised and continues to monitor the situation. Meanwhile, HealthAlliance Hospital and Margaretville Hospital in Hudson Valley had to divert patients to other facilities until services were restored. This attack follows similar incidents at MGM Resorts and Caesars in Las Vegas, where the hackers gained access to a significant amount of data and disrupted operations for an extended period of time.
