The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has released the gaming revenue results for September 2023. Despite a slight decrease in casino wins compared to last year, the state has experienced an overall increase in revenue. Internet gaming win has gone up by 21% and sports wagering gross revenue has increased by 13%, resulting in a total gaming revenue increase of 8% from September 2022.

Out of the nine casino hotels in operation, Borgata leads the pack with a revenue total of approximately $107.4 million in September 2023. However, this reflects a 5% decrease compared to the same time last year when Borgata generated $113.5 million.

Hard Rock takes second place in terms of revenue, slightly ahead of Golden Nugget, with earnings of $58.2 million and $57.9 million, respectively, in September 2023. Hard Rock has seen a 14% increase from last year, while Golden Nugget has experienced a 21% increase.

Ocean Casino witnessed the highest percentage growth in gaming revenue, with a remarkable 33% increase from September 2022 to September 2023. The hotel casino earned $44.7 million in September 2023, compared to $33.5 million during the same period last year, positioning it as a hotel casino worth keeping an eye on in the coming months.

Tropicana and Harrah’s experienced a 3% decline in revenue compared to last year, earning $33.8 million and $22.5 million, respectively, in September 2023. However, Harrah’s stands out with a significant increase in sports wagering revenue, soaring up by a staggering 454% compared to September 2022.

Caesars’ revenue dropped by 11% from last year, generating $21.4 million in September 2023. This places Caesars just ahead of Bally’s, which earned $20.3 million in September 2023, experiencing a 1% decrease from September 2022. They rank as the third and second lowest earning casino hotels in New Jersey for this month.

Resorts recorded the lowest revenue at $15 million, marking a 12% decline compared to the same time last year. This decrease in earnings can be attributed in part to low sports betting revenue, which plummeted by 81% from September 2022 to reach $43,400.
