Rivers Casino Philadelphia proudly donates $1 million to the Penn Treaty Special Services District (SSD) to benefit the neighborhoods of Fishtown, Northern Liberties, Olde Richmond, and South Kensington. The SSD is responsible for distributing the casino’s grants to local community organizations. These funds go towards supporting neighborhood events and improving local infrastructure, such as parks and playgrounds, as well as programs in the arts, sports, education, and recreation.

In the past 14 years, the Penn Treaty SSD has distributed 737 grants totaling $10 million to 182 non-profit organizations. Rivers Casino has been a steadfast supporter of the SSD since 2009, contributing a cumulative total of $11.4 million.

Eric Althaus, the General Manager of Rivers Casino, expressed the casino’s pride in its partnership with the Penn Treaty SSD, emphasizing the organization’s role in enhancing the well-being of neighboring communities.

At the donation presentation event, the Penn Treaty SSD board of directors recognized individuals and organizations that have made a positive impact on the community, resulting in City Council citations being awarded.

Rick Angeli, Chairman of the Penn Treaty SSD board, highlighted the significance of Rivers Casino’s annual contributions, stating that without their support, the important work done for the community would not be possible.

Rivers Casino has a strong commitment to community welfare and actively engages in initiatives like the Rivers Gives charity event, where employees have the opportunity to volunteer at non-profit organizations in multiple states.
