European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) led a highly successful initiative that reached 8 million people with safer gambling messages on social media across 20 European countries. With the support of over 160 partners, including operators, trade associations, and national gambling authorities, this week-long event saw a significant increase in participation compared to previous years. The campaign saw an extraordinary 430% surge in engagement on major social media platforms and offered practical resources in over 20 national languages. In addition to the online presence, 18 local events across Europe provided valuable discussions led by industry experts and representatives from harm-prevention organizations. Maarten Haijer, Secretary General of EGBA, expressed his satisfaction with the initiative’s success and its important contribution to promoting safer gambling.
