The Swedish Gambling Authority, known as the Spelinspektionen, is cracking down on illegal gambling activities. They have released a comprehensive list of banned operators and providers, including well-known names such as Winners Entertainment and Viking Technology. The most recent addition to the list is Perfect Storm, which was discovered to be operating its website without a license. Specifically, the site, known as 500 Casino, was targeting Swedish customers with Swedish language and specific terms and conditions. As a result, the Spelinspektionen has banned the site from operating in the country. Each ban comes with a detailed PDF explaining the reasons behind it. The list also includes reversals of decisions prohibiting gambling providers, such as Disrupt Entertainment and Gammix. Furthermore, in a blog post, the Spelinspektionen has provided a document outlining the basic criteria they investigate, including language, participation conditions, and contact information specific to Sweden. By highlighting these criteria, the Authority wants to make it clear that they are taking illegal gambling activity seriously. In recent news, Videoslots, an online operator, received an official warning and a penalty fee of SEK 9 million ($810,000) for failures related to money laundering and financing terrorism. The Spelinspektionen is determined to ensure a safe and legitimate gambling environment in Sweden.
